KIDLINGTON: The pedestrianisation of the main shopping precinct came into force yesterday.
Vehicles are now banned from High Street, between Oxford Road and Watts Road, from 10am-4.30pm.
Blue badge holders, cyclists and deliveries can still use the road, but no waiting is allowed except for loading.
Police will fine anyone flouting the ban £30, but leniency is expected in the first two weeks.
