RESIDENTS at an Oxford homeless hostel have put pen to paper and produced their own magazine.
The first edition of Simon Says, produced by people at Simon House in Paradise Street, will be sent out to residents throughout the hostel.
Seven residents worked to write and produce the magazine, which includes news and topical issues.
Poppy Shirlaw from the Kheiron School of English, who ran six weeks of writing classes, said: “The people involved have been very motivated. They’ve been inspiring.
“We now plan to make three magazines a year with the next one in August.”
She added: “The Simon House project has been all about giving people tangible skills, something they can actually show people when trying to get employment.”
Simon House is a 51-bed homelessness hostel, run by A2 Dominion.
