A Kosovan kicked out of Britain after an attempted murder came back to Oxford to commit another offence.

Refik Dedja was jailed for eight years in 2004 after he was involved in a workplace stabbing in Standlake.

But despite being deported at the end of his time in jail in 2009, the 33-year-old — who also has a conviction for breaking a man’s arm while working as a doorman — was jailed again at Oxford Crown Court.

Prosecutor Kate Mallison said Dedja, of Horspath Road, Cowley, was involved in a fight outside the Roppongi bar in George Street, Oxford, on February 15.

She said the defendant, who admitted affray, was seen on CCTV “punching an unknown male then kicking him”.

Dedja then “chases another male, grabs him and punches him”, Miss Mallison said, adding: “He then takes a third male to the floor where he kicks a part of his body.”

David Rhodes, defending, said his client went beyond self-defence when aggressively asked for a cigarette and wished to “offer an apology for the way in which he behaved”.

He said Dedja came to Britain in 1999, worked on the BMW production line at Cowley and married an English woman.

Mr Rhodes said it was Dedja’s desire to try to resurrect that marriage, which ended during his previous time in jail, which brought him back to Oxford.

Judge Gordon Risius jailed him for nine months, after which Dedja will be deported once more.
