ALTHOUGH I have never voted Labour in a General Election, I have every respect for Oxford East MP Andrew Smith, who, for the past 24 years, has served his constituents extremely well.

I think it’s disgusting that the Tories want to change the constituency boundaries so that they may have control of all six constituencies in Oxfordshire.

Oxford West and Abingdon MP Nicola Blackwood says moving her Radley ward to Henley would make it an orphan ward, with no ties to Henley. What does she think it would do to the Leys?

The Lib Dems say Sandford, Berinsfield, Garsington and Chalgrove should all move from Henley to Oxford East. What nonsense – all these villages are further east and nearer Henley than the Leys.

Have the Lib Dems, because of the coalition, been offered a constituency that they may win if the changes go ahead?

They won’t ever win Oxford East by election as long as Andrew Smith stands, so they are going to do it by stealth.

Why do all the constituencies have to be of similar size? Rubbish.

Let the people decide what they want first for a change – leave the Leys alone.
