IT WOULD seem that the policy of tyre companies in the event of a puncture in the tyre of your car, then the tyre has to be replaced instead of a repair regardless.

I am not sure whether to blame the tyre companies, or the Government, for bringing forward regulations that make the scrappage of tyres automatic in the event of puncture.

To help tyre manufacturers and that lovely VAT my solution is simple.

Buy the cheapest tyre possible, knowing that there will be less money for the vested interests.

When the Royal Mail last raised the price of stamps, I switched to buying second class stamps instead of first class stamps, as with tyres, vested interests can be given a bloody nose.
