SHE was a ray of sunshine who lit up the lives of everyone around her.

That was just one of the many tributes to a newly -qualified vet killed in a crash last week.

Flowers have been laid at the scene on the A420 where 25-year-old Rachael Jackson died.

Miss Jackson, of Kidlington, worked as a mobile assistant veterinary surgeon at Oxfordshire branches of Medivet after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College last July.

And today colleagues will hold a minute’s silence in her memory at midday.

Marc Jukel, head clinician at the Woodstock branch, said: “She was liked by staff and clients alike and fitted in well wherever she was.

“The fact that she will no longer be laughing, joking and interacting with us is beyond belief.

“To say she will be missed would be a massive understatement.”

Miss Jackson was driving a van to work when she involved in the accident with a lorry near Buckland on Wednesday morning.

She was pronounced dead at the scene just before 9am.

Friends and family were last night leaving tributes on a Facebook group.

David Kerrigan said: “Such a sad sad loss of such a beautiful and talented young person.

“Our hearts are broken and our extended families will always remember Rachael as the most generous and loving person that lit up our lives and all of those around her. Forever in our thoughts.”

Emma Lush said: “Rachael was the kindest, sweetest, most genuine and lovely person I’ve had the privilege of meeting in a very long time.

“She was a real ray of sunshine and will be terribly, terribly missed.”

Rhona Wells, assistant veterinary surgeon at the Woodstock surgery, said: “You will be missed every day.”

Last night more than 300 people had joined the group and left messages about Miss Jackson who was originally from East Sussex.

Rachele Parkinson said: “No one was ever more kind or warmhearted.”

Miriam Hedley said: “Rachael, thanks for all the times you made me laugh. There were many x”

Carla Quinn added: “I am so shocked and sad to hear this terrible news.

“Rachael was such a gorgeous person inside and out.”

The A420 was closed in both directions between the Buckland Road junction and the B4508 for more than six hours after the crash at Pusey Woods.

The section of road is a notorious accident blackspot and on Thursday, March 15, four cars crashed close to the Bampton turn.

Two cars crashed on the same part of the road on December 27 last year.
