Sir – Recently visiting the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre for an appointment, the registrar I saw referred me for physiotherapy, and I was given a form to take to the physiotherapy dept. No appointment was given. I was told I have to wait for a letter as someone has to decide who is the best person to see me. When I get this letter, I’ve already waited 10 days as I write this, I have to ring the department, if I still want an appointment.
I ask what will have changed during this wait. This is a waste of money especially with the cost of postage or are the powers who be hope we will give up and live with the pain. I believe this is just a delaying tactic to save money. The NHS is well funded we are told and the patients will be getting a better service with the new changes that are due to come in.
How much money is being spent on these changes to the detriment of the patient?
Ann Tomline, Long Wittenham
