I WOULD like urgently to appeal to any of your readers affected by prostate cancer to take part in an important survey launched by the Prostate Cancer Charity.

As someone who has been directly affected by the disease, I know that choosing which treatment to have can be a minefield for men with prostate cancer.

There are still huge variations in the level of care these men can expect to receive.

For this reason the Prostate Cancer Charity has compiled a draft set of standards to ensure that men get the treatment and care they deserve wherever they are in the country.

They urgently need to hear the views of people with experience of the disease, to ensure they reflect what men with prostate cancer need.

If you or someone close to you has had prostate cancer, please help shape the future of care for men with the disease by taking part in the Prostate Cancer Charity’s survey.

You can take part online via their website www.prostate-cancer.org.uk/qualitycare or request a paper survey by calling 0208 222 7222 and returning it by April 27.
