Senior councillors will discuss changes to the way new housing benefit claims are handled.
Oxford City Council is recommended to adopt a “risk based” approach to verifying new claims that will allow it to target efforts on cases it suspects may not be genuine. Officers believe that will help cut delays for legitimate claimants.
The council’s executive board will take a decision at its meeting on Wednesday night at the Town Hall.
