THE policy of children wearing school uniforms should be kept for the following reasons: School uniforms were introduced to stop teachers favouring children from wealthy families. Teachers could identify richer and poorer children by the way they were dressed – school uniforms stopped this “very common” unfair practice.

Schools which do not have school uniforms favour upper class and middle class children and neglect poorer, (although just as intelligent) working class pupils.
