You reported on residents in Headington wanting to take even more measures to slow traffic down (Oxford Mail, March 12).

Don’t they realise that all they are doing is making cars go faster in other parts of the area to try to make up time they lost going through the traffic-calming schemes?

This just moves the situation to the next street.

I think a better solution would be for them to learn how to use the pathways properly and not just walk out into the road without looking first. I thought there was a law against jaywalking.

As for cyclists, they are the biggest flouters of traffic rules and regulations – we won’t go into that long list. And, on top of that, neither party pays the duties which the rest of us must pay to even be on the road.
