Members of an evangelical church handed out daffodils to mums to mark Mother’s Day.

Pastor Chipper Betts and the congregation at Leys Community Church are celebrating after finding a new home at The Oxford Academy.

For the past eight years, they have been meeting at the Holy Family Church in Cuddesdon Way, Blackbird Leys.

But a growing congregation has led the evangelical church to move meetings to the academy in Littlemore.

On Sunday, Mr Betts and members of the congregation handed out daffodils to mums at Cowley’s Templars Square shopping centre.

He appeared with Susanna Colbrook, Anna Betts, Miles Wilton and Aaron Templer.

Mr Betts said: “We are a growing church and we have been offered the use of a lovely room at the school on Sunday. We like to do things to help the community and we thought handing out the daffodils would be a nice gesture and a nice way to celebrate Mother’s Day.”
