Sir – Following the correspondence about the proposed CPZ, The Oxford Times prints more furious anti-CPZ letters than letters in favour of the scheme.

However, I understand that the new revised CPZ scheme is divided into three separate sections. The Divinity Road block which is mainly residential and wants CPZ because unlimited free parking by students and hospital workers, block up spaces for residents’ cars and for tradesmen needing to work there, Magdalen Road North and Magdalen Road South, who do not want the scheme understandably, because it would change the character of Magdalen Road which has developed over the years.

All three proposed schemes should be be considered separately. Why divide it otherwise?
