A TEACHER who allegedly had a relationship with a teenage boy has appeared in court.

Adam Williams, 34, of Ruardean Walk, Cheltenham, was at Banbury Magistrates Court yesterday accused of seven counts of abusing a position of trust through sexual activity with a boy aged between 13 and 17.

Williams spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth, while John Berry, defending, said no indication would be given of how his client would plead to the charges.

Williams was bailed until Friday, April 27, when he must return to Banbury for the case to be formally committed to Oxford Crown Court. He is banned from contacting the teenager.
