COUNCIL tax bills for the 12 months from April are currently being posted to householders.

And Oxfordshire residents will see no big rise as the three authorities whose precepts represent the majority of the bill have all frozen their share.

Oxfordshire County Council will get £1,161.71 and Thames Valley Police will get £154.30 on a band D property.

Householders then pay to their local district or city council. Four of them have frozen their bills.

Oxford City Council will get of £262.96 on band D while Cherwell District Council will get £123.50, West Oxfordshire District Council will get £81.63p and Vale of White Horse District Council will get £116.69.

South Oxfordshire District Council has cut its share by 2.5 per cent to £120.64 for band D.

Some 40 per cent of homes will see a small rise in what they have to pay due to an increase made by their parish or town council.

For example, residents of Taynton, near Burford, will see their bill for Taynton Parish Meeting rise from £30.28 to £51.23.
