Mini Plant Oxford has boosted Oxford United’s drive to help youngsters by handing one U’s worker a new car.

Oxford United’s Youth and Community Trust provides football activities from after-school clubs to employment courses.

Last week, the trust’s commercial business development officer Gemma Drewett was presented with a Mini Clubman.

She said: “With this we can get out to help the youth of Oxfordshire.

“We are out and about helping so many young people in Oxfordshire, and it’s fantastic to be working with MINI on this.”

Ms Drewett added: “This is a fantastic way for two of the city’s most recognisable companies to join up.

“We are always looking to spread the word and working with thousands of youngsters to try and make football accessible to everyone.”

MINI Plant director Juergen Hedrich added: “We are delighted to support Oxford United with their work with young people in the community.

“Involvement with the trust allows us to further help local children fulfil their potential.”
