OXFORD University Conservative Association has been refused permission to use the university’s name after reportedly failing to pay a dinner bill.
A university statement said it refused to affiliate the club due to a “failure to reach the financial and administrative standards of a recognised student club”.
The Daily Telegraph reported on Saturday that this was over members’ failure to pay a £1,200 bill for a charity dinner at a London club in 2009.
However, it cleared members of alleged anti-semitic behaviour.
