EXCITEMENT was mounting yesterday as Oxford prepared for today’s visit from a very special Royal guest.

The Duchess of Cambridge, inset, will be in Oxford to visit two projects run by the Art Room project, based at Rose Hill Primary School and Oxford Spires Academy, in East Oxford.

The Duchess agreed last month to become the Art Room’s patron.

Sue Croft, principal of the academy, said pupils had been putting the finishing touches to their welcome for the Royal visitor, including last-minute flag-waving practice for some of Year Seven, pictured.

She added: “There’s a very excited atmosphere. We have all had a rehearsal and the whole school will be out in force to welcome the Duchess.

“The children are so pleased, absolutely delighted, that they are being recognised by someone so important and that someone so lovely is coming to see them.”
