Kind-hearted Banbury residents have raised thousands to help little Tiago Dos Santos get the specialist help he needs.

Now another fun-filled barn dance will fund vital therapy for the youngster, who has cerebral palsy.

The events have helped send the five-year-old to twice-a-year £3,600 therapy weeks at the Bobath Centre in London since 2008.

The therapies help stop contractures, the shortening of muscles, which can lead to deformities. Mum Ali pictured, 41, said: “It is so lovely people are willing to put themselves out for Tiago – it is quite humbling.”

The social worker, of Cope Road, Banbury said: “He is an amazing little boy.

“When you meet him you cann’t help but fall in love with him and want to help.”

Tiago & Ali’s Fund was set up after his father Paulo died in a road crash on the A415 near Ducklington in 2006.

He is now in Year One at St John’s Primary School and his mum said: “He loves it.

“He has amazing support staff there who really help him integrate into the school. Cognitively, he is as bright as a button.”

The barn dance will be held at the General Foods Sports and Social Club in Spiceball Park Road on Saturday, March 31, at 7.30pm.

A fundraising golf day will also be held in memory of Tiago’s golf-loving dad on Friday, July 27, at Rye Hill Golf Club, Milcombe.
