THAME Leisure Centre is getting a £360,000 revamp including work to improve the gym.
Work begins on Monday and will last for 13 weeks to create a new studio, changing facilities and toilets at the leisure centre at Lord Williams’s School in Towersey Road.
A studio for classes will be located in the part of the building now housing the sauna.
The revamp includes £30,000 of equipment in the upstairs gym area, together with the creation of a training and exercise room. Work upstairs will take about a month and the ground-floor changing area and health studio should be finished in May. Meanwhile alternative changing rooms will be available.
* The Cattlemarket Action Group says it is working with Thame town council to find a new community building for the people of Thame. The group wants a new meeting place after the closure of the football club building in Windmill Road in 2003.
