PLANS for six major industrial units by the M40 have been criticised by Banbury Civic Society.

Chairman Rob Kinchin-Smith said the six units for Overthorpe Road, near junction nine, would be “huge warehouses of an unprecedented scale”.

He added: “We are unconvinced that the small number of low-skill jobs created by such buildings would justify the obvious visual and environmental impacts created by such massive buildings.”

Cherwell District Council will decide on the plans.
