A pensioner died after his car and a bus collided.
The accident at 11.55am yesterday in Oxford Road, Abingdon, involved a Ford Fusion and an Oxford Bus Company X3 bus.
South Central Ambulance spokesman Gill Hodgetts said: “Paramedics were called to an incident in which a car had rolled over and a man was in cardiac arrest. They resuscitated him at the scene and he died later at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
“A female patient on the bus was taken to hospital after she suffered stomach pains but her injuries are not thought to be serious.”
The road was closed until about 3pm while the vehicles were recovered and investigations carried out.
The driver who is believed to have been from Abingdon and in his 80s had last night not been named.
There were four passengers on the bus, the Oxford to Abingdon service via the A34, at the time.
Oxford Bus Company operations director Louisa Weeks said: “We have launched an immediate inquiry. Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died.”
Any witnesses should call Abingdon roads policing on 101.
