ANYONE who hasn’t visited Rose Hill for a few years would be amazed to see the estate’s transformation.
It has changed from an area dominated by crumbling and dilapidated post-war homes to looking like something out of a developer’s brochure.
The demographics of the estate have changed dramatically too – with moves to more privately owned housing, increased ethnic diversity and a more concentrated population.
Millions of pounds of regeneration cash have also been poured into activities and facilities on the estate.
Now it is important for the old and new neighbours to work together to forge a new community.
Rose Hill has always prided itself on its community-spirited residents and its strong neighbourly atmosphere.
Let’s hope the new residents muck in, continue to fundraise and campaigning for their neighbourhood.
That way the true Rose Hill spirit will continue for decades to come.
