TAKING their first step on the property ladder together are newly-engaged couple Adrian Krajewski and Katie Bus.

The pair decided to buy their first home in Rose Hill to be close to the river, where Mr Krajewski enjoys kayaking and to make the most of an area they believe is on the up.

Mr Krajewski, 30, who works in the learning and development team at the Littlemore Mental Health Centre, used to commute in his car from Didcot, but is now able to walk to work in 15 minutes. He said he was thrilled with their top floor Desborough Crescent flat.

He said: “I proposed on New Year’s Eve so it’s all very exciting.

“We were actually after a house, but we liked the way the flat was planned, it’s very spacious and open plan.

“It’s on the top floor facing south and it’s very sunny and light – it’s everything we’ve always wanted.”

Mr Krajewski, who moved to the UK from Lodz, Poland, five years ago, now sees his future in Rose Hill.

“I think we’ll settle here now,” he said. “Our family from Poland came to visit at Christmas and they liked it a lot.

“I think Rose Hill is changing for the better.”
