Jimmy Wales, the founder of online encyclopaedia Wikipedia, gave a talk in Oxford last night to generate a debate on free speech.
Mr Wales was in conversation with Timothy Garton Ash, Oxford University’s Professor of European Studies.
The talk was streamed live on the Internet the day after Mr Wales blacked out Wikipedia for a day in protest about new laws in America designed to stop online piracy and websites that allow illegal file sharing.
The talk took place at the Clarendon Laboratory.
