PEOPLE convicted of offences at magistrates' courts around the county recently.

OXFORD

Lyndsay Smith, 64, of Waveney Close, Didcot, admitted drink driving in Tamar Way, Didcot, on November 23. Had 63 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £300, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 16 months.

Fernando Fernandes, 32, of High Street, Chalfont St Peter, admitted drink driving in London Road, Oxford, on October 30. Had 172 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of urine, above the legal limit of 107 milligrams. Fined £200, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

Marvin Gerken, 51, of Stanton Road, Forest Hill, admitted driving without a licence and drink driving in Wheatley Road, Forest Hill, on November 27. Had 89 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £200, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for three years.

Mark Kilbee, 41, of Purland Close, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Purland Close on November 28. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs.

Ashley Appleby, 21, of Cuddesdon Way, Oxford, admitted shoplifting toiletries valued at £31.67 from Superdrug in Oxford on October 25. Jailed for a week.

Louise Frances, 45, of Boundary Brook Road, Oxford, admitted criminally damaging the front and rear windscreens of a Vauxhall Zafira in Oxford on August 25. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £25 costs.

Darren Hillman, 33, of Manor Road, Banbury, admitted stealing a £278 laptop in Oxford on June 15. Given a four-month curfew, six months’ supervision and a training-and-employment requirement for five days. Also told to pay £85 costs.

Barney Marshall, 20, of Manor Road, Fishponds, Bristol, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause a fear of immediate unlawful violence in Oxford on October 8. Given a 36-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs. Also given a three-year football banning order from Bristol Rovers Football Club and any other game.

Trinity Carbon, 29, of no fixed address, admitted possessing cannabis in Oxford on November 29. Fined £150, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Arthur Horton, 20, of Blacknall Road, Abingdon, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Wilsham Road, Abingdon, on November 27. Fined £70 and £15 victims’ surcharge.

Samuel Bray, 18, of Ramsons Way, Abingdon, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Stratton Way, Abingdon, on December 2. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs.

Stephen Leavy, 57, of Hollow Way, Oxford, admitted drink driving in The Slade, Oxford, on November 28. Had 84 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £100, a £15 victims’ surcharge and banned from driving for 20 months.

Michaela Maclean, 29, of Clematis Place, Abingdon, admitted shoplifting a vacuum cleaner valued at £87 from Homebase in Abingdon on November 13. Fined £70, a £15 victims’ surcharge and told to pay £50 compensation.

David Bryant, 18, of no fixed address, admitted stealing £90 in Abingdon on November 1. Given a six-week prison sentence, suspended for a year, with a year’s supervision. Told to pay £90 compensation.

Paul Jones, 33, of Dirac Place, Didcot, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Queens Way, Didcot, on September 26. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs.

Steven Gordon, 40, of no fixed address, admitted stealing £4,690 from Tim’s Newsagent in Oxford on November 7. Given an 18-week jail term, suspended for two years, with two years’ supervision. Told to do 180 hours’ unpaid work and pay £4,690 compensation.

Ricky Johnson, 19, of Wilding Road, Wallingford, convicted of stealing four hubcaps valued at £30 in Wallingford on February 27 and failing to surrender to court bail on May 4. Given a 12-month conditional discharge, fined £25, a £15 victims’ surcharge, £30 compensation and £200 costs.

Darren Brady, 27, of Paradise Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a toothbrush valued at £17.49 from Wilkinson in Oxford on November 29. Also admitted breach of a community order by further offence. Given six months’ supervision and an eight-day Adapt course. Told to pay £17.49 compensation.

BANBURY

Peter Appleby, 51, of Basset Street, Camborne, Cornwall, admitted dangerously driving a Peugeot 405 towing a boat on a trailer on the M40 at Banbury on May 7. Fined £500, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

John-Paul Mountford, 35, of Edmunds Road, Banbury, admitted shoplifting numerous items valued at £122.94 from Wickes DIY in Banbury on November 2. Jailed for two weeks.

Anthony Chilton, 25, of Park Road, Banbury, admitted having a knife with a five-inch blade in Mold Crescent, Banbury, on November 5. Told to do 80 hours’ unpaid work and pay £85 costs.

Joseph Pang, 54, of Longworth Road, Southmoor, convicted of driving without insurance, without a licence and without correct number plates in Witney High Street on September 21. Fined £850, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £400 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

Jabren Ghalib, 27, of Davey Road, Birmingham, convicted of shoplifting six tops valued at £605 from Versace at Bicester Village on May 17. Told to do 150 hours’ unpaid work and pay £620 costs.

Aaron Smith, 20, of Mallard Drive, Witney, admitted assault by beating in Witney on August 28. Fined £135, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £50 costs.
