THE Bishop of Oxford is urging believers to remember the real meaning of Easter when they buy their chocolate treats this year.

Instead of buying the usual products on sale in the shops, he is encouraging his flock to stock up on eggs telling the Christian story of Easter, which will hit the shelves next month.

The Rt Rev John Pritchard yesterday called on shoppers to buy the Real Easter Egg after supermarkets agreed only to stock a few when they go on sale.

He said: “It is vitally important that our children are not cheated out of the chance to hear the Easter story.”

The Fairtrade chocolate egg comes in a box explaining the Christian Easter story, and 15p from the sale of each of the £3.99 eggs will go to the charity Traidcraft Exchange.
