IT was like movies Miracle on 34st Street, It’s A Wonderful Life and White Christmas all rolled in to one, when film-buff Penny Marsh arrived at the Phoenix Picturehouse to collect her Golden Ticket after winning a competition in our festive edition of The Guide, last month.
The pass allows Penny, from Headington, Oxford, and a guest to attend a film every week for the rest of the year at the cinema in Walton Street, Oxford.
She said: “This is wonderful as my New Year resolution was to go to the movies more.
“This will now give me the chance to meet up with old friends and enjoy a great night out at the pictures. I’m thrilled.”
Suzy Sheriff, pictured right, manager of the Phoenix, who presented Penny with her special ticket, said: “Penny intends to put the prize to good use, and as it’s our centenary in March, what a great year in which to win it.”
