Sir – I’m appalled at Christopher Gray’s brief article Odd choice of Christmas speakers (January 5), questioning the BBC’s use of a Jewish Rabbi to speak on Pause for Thought on Radio 2, a couple of days after Christmas.
David Cameron and Christopher Gray may believe that “Britain is a Christian country” — but have they checked out the vast numbers of people with other religions which abound here now? Heads in sand comes to mind. I’m not Jewish myself, but have dear friends who are, and on their behalf I’m outraged! I was brought up a Christian, but have turned to a more pagan form of spirituality in adulthood, and am proud to have friends of many faiths; all share a devotion to their own spirituality, which does not include demonising others. I believe an apology is required.
