The same thieves are believed to be behind two burglaries.
The first break-in, through a kitchen window, was at 12.45pm on Saturday in Cumnor Hill. The alarm was set off and the offenders left empty-handed.
A house in nearby Arnolds Way was then burgled between 1pm and 7.45pm. Asian gold jewellery, a Breitling watch and a new, boxed BlackBerry mobile phone were taken. Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw a white Transit van in Arnold Way.
