A HAUL of class A drugs, cannabis, £4,000 in cash and suspected stolen jewellery, clothing and perfume were recovered from a car stopped by police officers in the city.

Police said they pulled over the car in Northampton Road, South Hinksey, after it was seen being driven suspiciously last month. Arrests have been made.

The grey Vauxhall Insignia was searched and a large amount of what is believed to be a class A drug, cannabis and cash were discovered.

A Breitling watch, expensive clothing and perfume were also recovered, which police officers believe could be stolen.

Sgt Mike Roddy, one of the officers who stopped the car on December 23, said: “Drug dealing won’t be tolerated – if you are dealing drugs in East Oxford we will find you. The fact that we’ve made these arrests shows zero tolerance on drugs. If you’re coming into Oxford plying your trade here then we will take action.”

Sgt Roddy said: “If anyone’s got any information they can give us, we would welcome it – providing it doesn’t put them in any danger.”

Anyone with information about drug dealing in East Oxford can call Sgt Mike Roddy on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
