IN support of Simon Lord and his letter to the Oxford Mail on his cancer problem.

What are we coming to when we reach this degrading and inhuman treatment of a man and many others?

This community’s set-up and people who hold the purse strings must treat suffering far beyond social activities where money is wasted (paying people to come and switch on Christmas lights etc).

If we can build sports centres, stadiums at great cost, but turn our backs and our thoughts from our sick in body and mind then we become no better than animals.

Mr Simon Lord, don’t worry about those who may laugh, they will be of a very small minority but, inside themselves, you will have given them, and many more, something to think about.

I liked it when you said it was a responsibility for you to speak out – and to me that takes courage.

I hope all turns out well for you and, if I may add, all those others who are campaigning alongside you for various cancer treatment.
