A SUSPECT shopper is the focus of Badvent day 15 as police officers call on Oxford Mail readers to help them identify this man.

A man was seen walking into Asda in London Road, Wheatley, with two others on Thursday, November 17.

The three men loitered around one of the tills, two of them shielding the third from view as he opened a till drawer with a key and stole more than £500 in cash.

Security guards spotted suspicious activity but the men fled the store before staff could catch up with them.

Now police believe that the man, above, caught on the store’s CCTV cameras could help them with their inquiries.

He is described as white, in his mid 30s, with light brown, slightly balding short hair. He is described as having a pot belly and was wearing a black jacket, grey jeans and blue trainers.

Police officers are also keen to hear from anyone who can identify two white men in the store that day.

One was slim with short dark hair and was wearing black trousers and a grey top with the number four printed on the left-hand side. He also wore a white T-shirt under his top and a black scarf.

The other was about 5ft 9ins tall and also had a pot belly. He was wearing black jeans and a black T-shirt, and had very short hair.

Investigating officer, Pc Wayne Griffin, said: “The offenders made off with £527 in cash from the store.

“The offence took place shortly before 7.30pm when the store would have been fairly busy. Did you notice three men acting suspiciously, either outside or inside the store?”
