This show comprises a wide range of collectable items and attractive presents, all at affordable prices and all made by 18 local artists: jewellery, wood carving, ceramics, glass, books, prints, photo-art, lithographs, water colour, textiles and felt-work.

Many of the artists work in more than one medium, as in the case of Delia Taylor-Brook whose comfortable knitwear and ceramic pieces are accompanied by her delicate pictures. These include Family Outing, a limited edition print in which a duckling family are depicted in gentle blues, yellows and whites as they pick their way through luminescent puddles, and her watercolour Lemons in Sunlight (above) where she captures perfectly the plumpness of the ripe lemons as they glow in reflected light.

Ewa Exley also works in a range of media. Her textile pieces include a very cosy tea-cosy made from felt patchwork and charmingly decorated with stylish chickens and embellished with buttons.

Sue Lashmar creates fused glass pieces, the fusion taking place in the kiln. The result is a range of cheerful chunky glass bowls and plates accompanied by tactile pendants in strong clear colours and pretty ring trays etched with the outline of roses and other flowers.

Sue Bovingdon, a book artist and printmaker, shows a range of tactile textured papers, notebooks and cards with delicate wall-mounted pieces.

Eminently wearable are Wendy Kellard’s Touched by Angels textiles. In addition to pretty scarves, she has crocheted a stylish range of ponchos, using wool, mohair and acrylic mixes.

The show at Bampton continues until December 18 and is open daily Tuesday to Saturday and on Sunday afternoons.
