Oxford's StreetSports programme has been given top marks by a national quality scheme.
The StreetMark accreditation ensures that street sport schemes meet a series of standards.
Oxford City Council’s StreetSports programme runs during the summer holidays, offering activities for children including skate hockey, urban cricket, street soccer and basketball.
Mark Lygo, the council’s executive member for parks and sports, said: “Getting this accreditation is fantastic news.
“The team work hard to provide free sporting activities for young people in their communities throughout the summer holidays.
“I’m pleased that their hard work has been recognised.”
To achieve the accreditation, the council’s sports development team had to demonstrate the quality of their child protection procedures and of the training of staff running the activities.
The team also recently received a highly commended score in their Quest assessment, a national quality scheme for sport and leisure.
As well as the StreetSports scheme, the team offers a wide range of activities to get people involved in sport and to improve their health and well-being, including Get Oxfordshire Active (GO Active) and Active Women.
