HAVING had very little experience of TV this millennium, I was ignorantly under the impression that Top Gear was a high street clothes shop and that Jeremies Clarkson and Paxman were the same person, whereas the one is in fact a “professional loudmouth”, at least according to The Insider and the other, of course, a genteel, tactful, brilliant BBC presenter, interviewer and quizmaster.
May the ground swallow me up!
Having sorted that out, I wonder which your readers would prefer — the right to have obviously ironic and hyperbolic “outbursts” in a clearly mitigating context or an inexorable march towards rendering a serious criminal (or civil) matter any non-private (or even private!) observation which runs the risk of causing some degree of offence to someone or other.
