Sir – Through your letters page I would like to notify readers of an opportunity to apply to be a member of the Oxfordshire joint health overview and scrutiny committee; also known as the OJHOSC. The OJHOSC has the job of examining proposals for substantial change to health services which affect people living in Oxfordshire.
The committee consists of councillors from the county council and the district and city councils and three members of the public who are co-opted on to the committee.
These three places will become vacant in January 2012. Applications to join would be welcomed from people with an interest in health matters and a good knowledge of the Oxfordshire health system and/or health issues in the local community.
More information on the committee and details of how to apply can be found by going to the Oxfordshire County Council website and clicking on ‘About Your Council’ under the main menu.
Dr Peter Skolar, Chairman, Oxfordshire joint health overview and scrutiny committee, County Hall, Oxford
