Sir – We all thought that things would improve when the two bus companies began working together, but no so.
I can still see three buses, all number 8, leave my stop (Green Road) as I approach and find I have a 16-minute wait for the next bus. However that could be a traffic problem.
The following is definitely a bus problem. My son recent was unable to park at Thornhill and came to park at my house. We all went up to get a bus to the city centre. He paid for a return for two adults, a student son and two younger sons. No problem so far. However, when we went to Queen’s Lane to catch a bus home and got on a number 8 (the same as our previous journey) he was told that the tickets would cover only two adults and one son.
We said to the driver that they were both number 8 buses, so why?
Her reply was: “This is Stagecoach.” And no matter what we asked, she repeated that and nothing further, three times.
What are passengers supposed to make of that? Perhaps someone from the company would be kind enough to give a public answer in next week’s paper!
