POLICE were called to dozens of incidents caused by the high winds hitting the area overnight.

Between 10pm and 5.45am, officers were called to 39 incidents across the Thames Valley, with parts of South Oxfordshire among the worst hit.

Officers said the majority of calls were about fallen trees blocking roads, including the A415 near Culham and the B4494 south of Wantage.
