Musicians gave their time for free to help a school charity left out of pocket by the collapse of a summer festival.
Commotion, which raises money for Kingham School, lost £7,000 after the collapse of the Harvest festival, which was held on the farm belonging to Blur bassist Alex James in September.
The charity has held its own festival for seven years, distributing profits to music education and children’s charities, and was asked to run the Friday night line-up at Harvest.
But when Harvest organisers Big Wheel Promotions collapsed with £1m debts, the charity lost half the cash it was owed.
To help recoup the money, it staged the Commotion Rewired show, at Chipping Norton Town Hall, on Friday, starring The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band, with support from Krissy Matthews and Beth Thornton, pictured.
Commotion supporter Mr James was in the audience for the event and introduced the headliners.
Organiser Kate Woodward said: “People like the Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band have been hugely supportive.”
