Badvent day 12 is an appeal for a suspect police have being trying to track down since 2005 on suspicion of defrauding the taxpayer.

Harriet Uwimbabazi, below, is wanted over fraud and deception offences on a warrant issued by Oxford Crown Court more than six years ago.

Each day throughout December the Oxford Mail is printing a different photograph of a hard-to-find suspect that police officers believe hold the key to solving crimes in the county.

Last year, six criminals were brought to justice after reader tip-offs led to arrests and charges and this year eagled-eyed readers have already helped to cage one Badvent suspect who evaded the courts despite three warrants in his name.

Less than 24 hours after printing Ashley Appleby’s mugshot, a call came in to tell police where to find him and now detectives are hoping for the same response to our latest appeal.

Dc Jacqui Bartlett said: “This woman is charged with dishonestly obtaining accommodation and payment of utility bills from the asylum department of Oxfordshire social services to the value of £13,332.62 between April 19, 2002, and June 14, 2005. She is also accused of falsely claiming she was destitute with no income. Harriet Uwimbabazi, who lived in Headington, is black, 5ft 5in tall and is in her late 20s. She is slim and at the time the photo was taken in 2005 she had very long, plaited hair.

“Do you know where she is? Have you seen her in the Headington area? If you have any information that could help identify her whereabouts get in touch.”
