Managers at the Old Bookbinders Arms in Jericho say the pub is back to its best, just months after it reopened.
The Greene King pub in Victor Street closed temporarily in May while the brewery appointed new licensees.
Residents were delighted when the pub reopened in July, with former restaurateur Michel Sadones and son Josh Mullett-Sadones, pictured, taking over as joint licencees.
Mr Mullett-Sadones, 21, said: “In 2008, the Old Bookbinders won Oxford’s Pub of the Year award from CAMRA, so when we came here we decided to take things back to how they used to be.”
Board games, quizzes and open mic nights are delighting regulars, he said.
He said: “The place is very busy with a good mix of people from Jericho and students from Worcester College.
“I would love it if the pub was on the shortlist next year for CAMRA’s city pub of the year.”
A story in the Oxford Mail on Monday incorrectly stated that the pub was closed.
