I am 90 years old. I was called to the Army on November 1, 1945 ,and did my six weeks in Carlisle Castle.

I was sent to GHQ Cairo where I transferred to Royal Signals.

I was sent to Palestine for a cipher course then transferred to a place called Nanyuki in Kenya, East Africa.

I served alongside a Lt. Howe who later became Sir Geoffrey Howe, Chancellor of the Exchequer.

I was demobbed in 1947.
