I must agree with most of your readers regarding parking permits.

We have to pay for permits to allow us to park on our streets (when there are functions gong on at the Kassam Stadium, ie Oxford United at home, plus every Sunday the boot sale).

After reading your piece in the Oxford Mail (Monday November 21), I took a walk around where I live, and in approximately one-and-a-half miles, I noticed nine vehicles parked during the car boot sale with no parking permits, but no parking tickets issued to these vehicles.

This is a common offence around this area. Many thousands of pounds are lost due to lack of wardens and, of course, those who purchase permits get angry when people park at no cost.

Indeed, there has been a car parked near me for the last six weeks which has no parking permit displayed.

Also, while the functions are on, relating to permit parking, why are car owners allowed to park their cars on the grass to avoid prosecution?

This is done by vehicle owners on a regular basis.
