Emergency services were called to two fires caused by cooking left unattended on Thursday night.
Two people were treated for smoke inhalation after the fires, in a sheltered housing flat in Field Avenue, Blackbird Leys and in Ridgefield Road, Cowley.
The fire and rescue service said both properties had smoke alarms, but the batteries had been removed.
