IT LOOKS like Christmas is on the cards again, and there’s one place in Oxford where that’s definitely true.
St Michael at the Northgate, in Cornmarket Street, is playing host to Card Aid, a shop which specialises in charitable cards.
Their shops sell them on behalf of more than 200 charities, from the Actors’ Benevolent Fund to World Child Cancer.
Card Aid guarantee that a minimum of 25 per cent of the sale price will go towards the charity which is named on the card.
Francesca Bromley who runs the store, said: “Past figures have shown that between 40 and 60 per cent goes to the charity, despite our guarantee.
“A lot of high street retailers give as little as two per cent to charity from their cards.
“We have cards from 60 charities in our store and some of them are local. There is plenty of choice.”
