THANK you for publishing my letter with the query about national service, as I fully expected someone among your readership to know the answer and in fact four people kindly wrote in with information.
It solved the situation in our little day centre group. Thank you, Dr Sandalls and Messrs Keevil, Hill and Briggs.
We are a varied bunch at the day centre, the youngest being 79, the eldest 84. Two Royal Engineers, one Royal Signals, one Guardsman, two Royal Army Service Corp, one Royal Army Medical Corp, one Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineer, one Royal Army Ordnance Corp, one RAF.
