Your readers will remember the BT Sport Relief Challenge: Walliams v Thames, where David Walliams completed the incredible feat of swimming 140 miles of the Thames in just eight days. The event was a great success and BT would like to thank all who made a donation.
Between Lechlade on Monday, September 5, through to the finish at Westminster Bridge on September 12, £34,710.07 was raised thanks to the generosity of the public and the way they responded to BT volunteers who walked the route collecting donations.
BT supplemented the £34,710 with a further £295,000 donation of its own – helping David’s challenge to raise the grand total of £1.1million for Sport Relief.
All the money raised will be spent by Comic Relief helping those living unimaginably tough lives both here in the UK and in the world’s poorest countries.
People can still help BT reach its Sport Relief fundraising target by donating at www.mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/walliamsvsthethames.
