Please may I express my disgust and anger at the stoppage of route 32 through the villages of Ardington and Lockinge.

This is a service that has run for many years. Parent company Go-Ahead (that seems inappropriate), which owns Thames Travel, is expecting the residents, both young and old, to walk up dark, unlit, tree-lined roads with no footpaths to catch a bus on the extremely busy A417.

In many cases that will mean crossing the A417 in the rush hour – an accident waiting to happen. There has been no consideration for their passengers. I believe the bus company will not be providing shelters or lay-bys.

Halting the buses will stop the flow of traffic, causing impatience, making a bad situation even worse.

We have been told that a “shopper” mini-bus service will be provided three days a week between 10am-3pm, which is better than nothing but not good enough.

These buses will be useless to people with appointments for doctors, dentists, commuting, school runs and the such like at other times and other days.

I have just one thing to say to Go-Ahead bus company – reinstate our bus service in its entirety.
