A LAB in Oxfordshire is giving amateur and professional photographers that chance of joining a special behind-the-scenes tour.
The Rutherford Appleton Laboratory is holding a “photowalk” on Thursday, November 24, to let science-loving snappers take plenty of shots of their unique facilities.
Professor John Womersley, director of science programmes at Science and Technology Facilities Council, which runs the lab, said: “We want these photowalks to generate some striking exterior and interior images that will raise awareness of our cutting-edge science and technology.”
Those who do go along will also have the chance to win a national competition judged by professional scientists and photographers. The winner will be able to choose between a behind-the-scenes tour of Cern particle physics laboratory near Geneva, an iPad or £500 of vouchers.
All participants must be 18 or over. To take part in the photowalk, which is free of charge, visit stfc.ac.uk/37355.aspx
